THE BIG SPANK recorded its third full-length album, Gypsy Rug Burn. The record has a heavy Latin influence from the percussion instruments to the guitar licks, and many of the tracks are sung in Spanish. There's even a metal-merengue song mixed in with the ska, pop and punk elements Spank fans crave.

THE BIG SPANK lives gypsy-style in a converted school bus and is touring full time, spreading their love in the form of feel-good tunes that have elements from ska, punk, soul, R&B, hip hop, death metal, polka, Norteño, and other genres.

Members includes Bert Lujan (Drums), Mike García (Guitar/Vocals/Accordian), Retzen (Trombone), Chris Tickner (Bass Guitar), and Javier Sandoval (Guitar, Vocals).
