Dear Friends,
Every time I walk through the Railyard, I’m reminded why this place means so much to so many people.
I see children playing in the park, neighbors gathering at the Farmers’ Market, artists sharing their work, visitors discovering Santa Fe for the first time, musicians filling the plaza with life, and small businesses opening their doors each morning. The Railyard isn’t simply a collection of buildings or public spaces—it is where our community comes together. It reflects the creativity, history, diversity, and spirit that make Santa Fe unlike anywhere else.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens because of people like you.
To our tenants, community partners, volunteers, City leaders, event organizers, visitors, donors, staff, and neighbors—thank you. Thank you for believing in this place, for investing your time, your energy, and your ideas, and for helping make the Railyard one of the most vibrant public spaces in New Mexico.
Like any organization that has served a community for more than two decades, we’ve experienced seasons of growth, moments of challenge, and opportunities to learn. Through it all, our mission has remained remarkably consistent: to steward the Railyard in a way that honors its history while ensuring it continues to thrive for generations to come.
As Board President, I couldn’t be more optimistic about where we’re headed.
This is a moment to build on everything that makes the Railyard special. Together, we’ll continue strengthening our relationships with tenants, deepening our partnership with the City of Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Conservation Trust, supporting the incredible cultural organizations and events that bring this place to life, and making thoughtful decisions that preserve the Railyard as an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone.
We’ll also continue listening.
One of the things I’ve always appreciated most about the Railyard is that people care deeply about it. They have ideas, they ask questions, they want to be involved, and they want this place to succeed. We welcome that. Strong communities are built through conversation, collaboration, and trust, and those values will continue guiding our work.
As we begin this exciting new chapter, I am truly delighted to welcome Tunté Vigil as the Santa Fe Railyard Community Corporation’s new Executive Director.
From the moment we met Tunté, it was clear she understands what community-centered leadership looks like. She brings an extraordinary background in public service, organizational leadership, and partnership building, but what impressed us just as much was her warmth, her ability to connect with people, and her genuine enthusiasm for serving others. She is a listener, a collaborator, and someone who believes that the best ideas come from working together.
The Board unanimously believes she is the right person to lead the Railyard into its next chapter, and I know you’ll soon discover why we’re so excited to have her on our team.
The future of the Railyard is bright.
Together, we’ll continue celebrating what makes this place extraordinary while embracing new opportunities to strengthen our organization, support our tenants, create memorable experiences, and ensure the Railyard remains one of Santa Fe’s greatest community treasures.
Thank you for your continued support, your partnership, and your belief in this incredible place. I look forward to seeing you in the Railyard.
With gratitude,
Rosemary Romero
