DRUM CIRCLE with Matthew Duvall of Eighth Blackbird

Experience rhythm like never before! Matthew Duvall and Performance Santa Fe present a one-of-a-kind drum circle at the Santa Fe Railyard. Matthew, a boundary-pushing percussionist, seasoned educator, and artistic director of Eighth Blackbird, will explore the wide-ranging percussive possibilities of instruments, everyday objects, and the body alongside participants who include local musicians and community members. Spectators are welcome.

 

Hailed as “one of the smartest, most dynamic ensembles on the planet” (Chicago Tribune), Eighth Blackbird began in 1996 and continues today under the leadership of founding members pianist Lisa Kaplan and percussionist Matthew Duvall.
